Terms of Use

By accessing or using Hymn, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

Hymn lets you read and browse Christian hymns (including English and Chichewa editions where available), organise favourites and reading history on device, receive content updates, and—for authorised administrators—manage hymn content through the web admin tools.

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use hymn content through the Services for personal devotion, worship, teaching, and similar non-commercial use, subject to these Terms.

You may not:

• Scrape, bulk-download, or redistribute the catalog in a way that substitutes for the Services
• Remove notices or misrepresent the origin of content
• Use the Services or content for unlawful purposes

Some hymns may be subject to third-party copyright or traditional attribution. Where rights are unclear, use content respectfully and only as permitted by applicable law.

The Hymn name, branding, app design, website design, software, and compilation of the catalog are owned by Tech And Graphics or its licensors. Except for the limited licence above, no rights are granted by implication.

Public hymn reading does not require an account. Admin access is provided only to authorised users via Keycloak and is limited to managing content and related operations. You must keep credentials confidential and must not share admin access. We may suspend or revoke access if we believe these Terms have been violated.

You agree not to:

• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the API, admin tools, or other users’ data
• Interfere with or disrupt the Services
• Upload or transmit malware or harmful code
• Abuse push notification, backup, or other APIs
• Use automated means that impose an unreasonable load on our systems without permission

Favourites, history, and settings stored on your device (or in optional backups you create) are your responsibility to keep safe. Cloud backup features, when enabled for an authenticated user, overwrite prior cloud backup state on save (“last write wins”).

The Services may link to or rely on third parties, including Google Play, WhatsApp, Firebase, Keycloak, and tag.mw. We are not responsible for third-party terms, privacy practices, or availability.

THE SERVICES AND CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that content is complete or up to date.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, TECH AND GRAPHICS AND ITS CONTRIBUTORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICES IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICES IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM (IF ANY) OR ZERO IF THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED FREE OF CHARGE.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.

You may stop using the Services at any time (including by uninstalling the Android app). We may suspend or discontinue the Services or your access, in whole or in part, including for maintenance, abuse, or legal reasons.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date on this page will change when we do. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Malawi, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in Malawi shall have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms or the Services, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live.
